Prince’s Trust at The Daylight Veggie Patch!

On the 13th and 14th of July 2022, staff and students from the Tresham College studying the Prince’s Trust Programme volunteered on the Daylight Veggie Patch as part of their Community Volunteering Programme.

On the first day, students created bird scarers using repurposed materials including CDs, spare fabric, and plastic plant pots. This will help to protect our veggies from hungry birds. Also, the students helped to construct our new composting area made from recycled pallets and a repurposed gazebo cover. Also, the students planted hundreds of veggie seeds and removed a lot of weeds. We are completely organic, so we have plenty of weeding to do!

On the second day, students planted several fruit trees onto the Veggie Patch Orchard, and finished the construction of the composting zone, created more bird scarers, planted many more seeds, and removed even more weeds!

Below we have a selection of photos taken at the Prince’s Trust volunteering session at the Daylight Veggie Patch. Thank you so much for supporting us!
