Cummins At The Daylight Veggie Patch!

The team at Cummins, featuring Danielle Wallinger (Centre) and Jo West, Allotment Development Worker (far-right).

On the 8th, 9th and 10th of June 2022, staff members from Cummins joined us on the Daylight Veggie Patch as part of their volunteering week. Cummins have been long supporters of the Daylight Centre. More recently, Cummins supported our Kitchen Refurbishment Project with a very generous donation towards the costs, and now they have been involved with our new and exciting Community Allotment Project.

Across the three days, the amazing team at Cummins collaborated with clients and volunteers from the Daylight Veggie Patch to plant hundreds of seeds, including potatoes, cabbages, cauliflowers, and butternut squashes. On top of this, the team at Cummins constructed our green house and picnic table, ready for our clients to use when they rest and eat their lunch. There was also plenty of weeding to be done because the Daylight Veggie Patch is completely chemical free and grown as natural as possible!

Below we have a selection of photos taken on Cummins volunteering week at the Daylight Veggie Patch. Thank you so much for supporting us!
